What Attributes Do You Look For In A Mate

Perhaps the reason there is so much divorce in this country is related to how men and women choose each other.  The other day I was in a conversation with several women and one man.  The conversation had moved to relationships and the man ask: “What kind of attributes do you ladies look for in a mate?  Good looks, personality, money?  Please be honest” Well the women began to to answer and here are just some of the responses: “I would choose an average looking man who can protect me” “If I had a choice, I would...

Loyalty vs Disloyalty

Loyalty  – Dictionary.com defines loyalty as “the state or quality of being loyal; faithfulness to commitments or obligations.  Faithful adherence to a sovereign, government, leader, cause, etc. An example or instance of faithfulness, adherence, or the like…” How many people around you can you tag as being loyal?  Can you look in the mirror at yourself and honestly say “I am a loyal friend, spouse, worker, Christian”? From my experience, sadly, I have met very few truly loyal individuals.  Oh, they may appear to be loyal for a period of...

Rebuilding A Marriage TV vs. Reality

Recently I was watching a TV show where a marriage of 20 years was broken when the wife, Denise, had an affair.  The husband, Frank, was hurt.  His trust was violated and he stated the marriage was over and both Denise and Frank met with their lawyers. Denise’s lawyer twisted her words to make it out that Frank was a worse husband than he really was.  Franks lawyer made Denise out to be worse than she was.  Both Denise and Frank began defending each other to their respective lawyers.  Each decided to cut out the lawyers and go to a...

Priority Determines Capacity – Time Management

How many times have you said to yourself or someone else “I don’t have enough time to do…”? During a recent money management coaching session I had a woman who was totally overwhelmed.  She felt her life was so busy that the mention of just tracking her daily expenses put her into tears and she proclaimed “I can’t do another thing, my day is too full as it is.” Sound familiar?  Is your day so full that even just one small additional task will bring you to tears?  I know there have been times in my...

My Own Little World

Yesterday while mowing the back 40 I was stung twice by two separate wasps. I immediately put some Benadryl lotion on the stings but that was not to stop the allergic reaction that followed.  My elbow and ring finger began to swell beyond recognition. I headed to the drug store and purchased some liquid Benadryl as well as some tablets.  Taking the liquid I figured in 20 minutes or so the swelling would go down…instead it continued to get worse.  I am very lucky to have a doctor that is open seven days a week so I headed over there and...

One Pink Rose

Have you ever felt like you were alone in your beliefs.  That you are surrounded by weeds, old leaves maybe even a few blades of grass and here you are the one splash color as far as you can see? Regardless of the belief, be it how you parent your child, how, when or who you worship, working for someone or being an entrepreneur, or standing on your moral principles, do you ever feel like you are out there all alone?  I know I have. The other day when I was out for a walk I saw this miniature pink rose.  It was in an area that was probably...

The Husband A Woman Needs

Have you ever said to your wife, “I will never be the man you need”?  Maybe you haven’t said those words outloud but you thought them. Some of you reading this right now may have left your wife thinking you would never be the man she needed. Or be able to live up to her expectations. When it comes to this earth you are correct.  No one is perfect and there is no way any one can meet all the needs of another individual.
